CONGONHAS CATWALK

 

Designed in 1973, the Congonhas Airport walkway was revolutionary at the time of its construction due to technological innovation in its assembly logic.

 

Designed by the acclaimed architect João Batista Vilanova Artigas, foi built with cast-in-place concrete pillars_5cc34981-in-place 136bad5cf58d_a long span over Avenida Washington Luís, being possible to overcome it through the use of metal beams hoisted in just two dawns.

 
Despite its importance for Brazilian cultural heritage, being an example of progress in Brazilian civil construction and architecture, desde dos anos 90_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad_05cc578d9a_5cc578d9 -5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_passarela 
it was deteriorated and its maintenance was non-existent.

The restoration proposal, improves the standard in relation to Avenida Washington Luís, guarantees universal accessibility through the insertion of elevators,_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b-18d_bad5cf5cf and lighting all the way   in order to provide greater protection and comfort to users, and a recovery of structure in 3cc781-05 -136bad5cf58d_concreto, saving the memory of the helical ladder.
