CHILD SPEAKS GLICÉRIO
The project was conceived by Coletivo Leve in collaboration with sociologist Nayana Brettas and the team from the NGO "Criança Fala", committed to listening to children and inserting children's repertoire into city spaces, as part of the recovery of community life, making neighborhoods safer and more humane.
In total, architects, urban planners, artists and designers spent 2 years living together and exchanging experiences with children from the Glicério neighborhood in São Paulo. The methodology used in this process has been widely studied and is known worldwide by the term "place making". In this approach, the professionals involved immerse themselves deeply in the local culture and, through dialogue with the community, establish real parameters: studying daily flows, local habits, potential for transformation and improvement, and based on this data collection, they collectively and collaboratively design urban solutions.
